OpenAI、ライバルのAnthropicから安全対策の専門家を引き抜き──アルトマンCEO「今夜はぐっすり眠れそう」

OpenAIが、ライバル企業のAnthropicからディラン・スカンディナロ氏を引き抜き、AI準備責任者に就任させたとBloombergが報じた。スカンディナロ氏はAnthropicで汎用人工知能（AGI）の安全対策を担当していた人物で、サム・アルトマンCEOは「この役割において、これまで出会った中でダントツで優秀な候補者」と絶賛している。

アルトマンCEOは自身のXで「これから物事がかなり急速に進展し、すぐに非常に強力なモデルと協力することになる。相応の安全策が必要だ」とコメント。スカンディナロ氏が深刻なリスクへの備えと軽減を主導するとし、「今夜はぐっすり眠れそうです」と安堵感を示した。ちなみにこのポジションの年収は最大55万5000ドル（約8700万円）とのこと。

スカンディナロ氏自身も「AIは急速に進化しています。潜在的な利益は大きく、極端で取り返しのつかないリスクも同様です。やるべきことは山ほどあり、時間はあまりありません！」とXに投稿。OpenAIはChatGPTの訴訟問題を受けてペアレンタルコントロール機能の追加など安全対策に注力しており、その姿勢を体現する重要な人事と言えそうだ。
