折畳iPhone、複数のプロトタイプをテスト中　投入には慎重な姿勢

Appleは、複数の折畳iPhoneを試作している可能性がある。14/16インチMacBook Pro（2021）の登場時期を正確に予測したiOSデベロッパーのDylan氏によると、プロトタイプが複数存在していることを確実視しているが、現状では折畳ディスプレイ技術において妥協するべき点が多すぎると指摘している。

Appleは、折畳スマートフォンの将来性についても慎重になっており、競合の失敗から学び、市場の動向を分析。iPhoneに見劣りしない完成度を目指しているという。

DSCCやMing-Chi Kuo氏は、早ければ2023年に折畳iPhoneが登場すると予測。Appleに詳しいBloombergの名物記者Mark Gurman氏は、「少なくとも2、3年先になると思う」と予想している。ゴリミーの情報筋によると、Appleは2023年の発表を目指していると聞いている。
