2021年登場予定の新型AirPodsはMagSafeをサポートする、というシナリオも？
iPhone 12シリーズは、双方向ワイヤレス充電をサポートしている可能性がある。米国連邦通信委員会（FCC）の申請情報によると、2020年のiPhoneは360kHzでアクセサリーを充電可能、と明記されている。
In addition to being able to be charged by a desktop WPT charger (puck), 2020 iPhones also support WPT charging function at 360 kHz to charge accessories. Currently the only accessory that can be charged by iPhones is an external potential apple accessory in future.
Appleは発表イベントでは特に言及しておらず、製品仕様にも明記されていない。BloombergのMark Gurman記者は、新型AirPodsにはMagSafeがサポートされている可能性を指摘している。

Appleは、iPhone 11シリーズで双方向ワイヤレス充電のサポートが噂されていたが、実現されなかった。AirPodsは、AirPods（第3世代）およびAirPods Pro（第2世代）が2021年に発表されると噂されている。
